PLEASANT RE-UNION
AUSTRALIAN EX-SERVICEMEN By Teiesraph Hies- Association WELLINGTON, August 24. In a dug-out as nearly realistic as possible, about 60 ex-members of the Australian Imperial force resident in Wellington to-night ate bully-beef, drank beer, sang wartime songs and exchanged stories of days in the trenches and behind the lines. The re-union was held in the Wellington R.S.A. rooms, members wearing tin hats and entering through a sandbagged door. The room was lit by candles. Mr J. Payne, president of the A.I.F. Association, in Wellington, presided. The visitors included the Hon. W. Perry, Colonel W. H. Cunningham, Lieut.-Commander Head, Wing-Commander Wilkes and Major Crump.
