ALPINE ACCIDENT
L. V. BRYANT INJURED By Telegraph —Pres? association WELLINGTON, August 24 Ski-ing downhill on Mt. Ruapehu at 50 to 60 miles an hour, L. V. Bryant, a member of the Mt. Everest reconnaissance expedition In 1935, struck a bank of snow yesterday and fell heavily. After courageously struggling 1000 feet down to Salt Hut, he was found to have a broken right ankle, and two ribs, and suffered injury to the right knee. Bryant is on the staff of the Waitaki High School. He was borne on a stretcher to the Chateau road and sent by train to Hamilton.
