JOLTED FROM CAR
GIRL FATALLY INJURED By leiearaob Press Associa'Jon WELLINGTON, August 22 After falling from a motor car in which she was a passenger on the Lowry Bay Road, Alma McNabb, aged 19, of Lower Hutt, died in the Wellington Hospital some hours after admission. It is understood that the car in which she was riding was going in the direction of York Bay when the driver’s coat caught in the light control. The driver pulled the car over to the left to prevent it from going on to the beach and it went into a ditch. He received a knock that maue him lose consciousness, but his foot went on to the accelerator. When he recovered he found that the car was pulled up at an angle across the road, but the door was coen and Miss McNabb had disappeared. He found her lying partly across the road and partly over tile seawall.. She was unconscious. With the assistance of other motorists he lifted Miss McNabb into his father’s car and drove her to Petone to a doctor, who ordered her removal to the hospital where she died without regaining consciousness. She had a bruise on her forehead.
