PERSONAL
Mr C. W. Reid who will take up the position of sole teacher at Sherwood Downs next term, was met by the pupils in his class at the Fairlie District High School on Friday afternoon and was presented with a pair of leather gloves. Mr Reid was also entertained at an evening at Mrs J. Trotter’s residence by the St. Columba Presbyterian Church choir, of which he is choirmaster. Miss R. I. Slater of the Fairlie District High School staff, left on Saturday morning for Christchurch, Miss M. H. Meldrum for Oamaru and Miss E. L. Paterson for Dunedin. Miss Sarah Swainson, who has completed her term of relieving work in the secondary department, is returning to Christchurch.
