FREE FIGHT AT FOOTBALL
SOCCER MATCH ABANDONED United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received August 24. 6.30 p.m.) BRISBANE. August 23. A free fight in which the players and spectators alike participated, caused the abandonment of a soccer match between the Y.M.C.A. and the Rovers. Early in the game the barrickir.g of a woman spectator annoyed one ol the YJM.C.A. players anu he -ommenccd to shout back to her from the field. Apparently one of his remarks offended an opposition player and blows were exch mged. In a moment practically all members of the two teams were involved in a fracas and the crowd swarired on to the ground to join in the fray. Considerable time elapsed before order was restored, after which the referee called off the match.
