The combined Hockey Clubs dance in aid of tournament funds will be held in the Savoy tea rooms. Attention is drawn to the railway advertisement appealing in this issue giving particulars of alteration to train services between Timaru. Ashburton, and Christchurch on Saturday, August 29. After numerous requests, the organisers of last year’s function have consented to arrange a 1936 mystery ball, and even now a second triumph is assured. Another delightful dance hall has been secured. See front page advertisement. The Old Boys Cricket Club will hold a “hard-up” dance in the Bay Tea Rooms to-night. All men interested are specially invited to a social to be given by the Legion of Frontiersmen which will be held in the Toe. H. rooms on Wednesday next August 26. commencing at 8 p.m. A small charge will be made for admission. At the Assembly Mission Hall. Mr W. Moore will take as his subject “A Great Judge’s Opinion.”
