IMPREST SUPPLY BILL By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, August 21. The Legislative Council met at 10.30 a.m. The Imprest Supply Bill was received from the House. The Hon. R. McCallum congratulated the Government on the buoyant state of the country, and pointed out that building activity had doubled in the year ending June last. He congratulated the Government on its decision not to borrow abroad, and said that credit in London should be reserved for a time which might arrive when New Zealand would want to borrow for defence to help the Mother Country. He urged the Government to reduce the sales tax as soon as possible. The Bill was put through all stages and passed, and the Council adjourned 1 n 50 m
