VALUES UNCHANGED A good sound sale all round sums up yesterday’s stock sale at the Pleasant Point Saleyards. Fat Cattle: Out of a total of 40 head offered only three were steers, the balance being cows and heifers, few of which were well finished. Values were fully up to last week’s rates. The range u r as: Fat steers, to £9/7/6; fat heifers, best £6/7/6 to £B/2/6, light £3/12/6 to £5/7/6; fat cow’, best £6'2/6 to £7 17 6. light £4 to £5/2/6; runners to £3/7 6; cows and calves £3/17/6. Store Cattle: A small yarding sold as follows: Bulls, £3 10/-; empty cows. £2/12/6. Dairy Cattle: A larger entry than usual met with keen competition, no change in values being noticed. Sales w r ere: Springing heifers, £4/7/6; springing cows, £4/10/- to £7; cows in profit, £5. Pigs: The market was under supplied; as a consequence prices firmed slightly. Sales w r ere: Weaners, 14/to 16/6; slips, 15 - to 18/-; stores, to 25/-. Fat Sheep: Over one race of fat sheep was offered to a full bench sf butchers. The quality of the fat ewes was the best for some months. Values were fully the equal of last week’s sale at Temuka. The range w’as: Fat ewes, extra good 32/- to 35/4, good 27 - to 30/-, medium 21- to 25/7, light 20,'to 22/-; fat wethers, good 30/- to 33/7. medium 26/- to 28 7, light 24 '6 to 25/7. Store Sheep: The store sheep entrv was the largest and best for about four sales. The market was unchanged.
