KING’S HOLIDAY
WELCOME IN JUGO-SLAVIA United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph - Copyright (Received August 10, 7.40 p.m.) BELGRADE, August 9 The Regent of Jugo-Slavia, Prince Paul, and the British Minister (Mr Balfour) welcomed King Edward at the railway station at Jezenice and drove him to Prince Paul’s summer residence, where he was presented to Princess Olga. After this Prince Paul accompanied him by train to Ljubljana to catch the special court train to Zagreb, en route for Sidenik, where the King will board the Nahlin on the morning of August 10. The weather at present is rough. The King’s incognito has been strictly observed, though pedestrians at Salburg waved to him and he waved back as he walked through the streets after visiting Castle Helbrunn, St. Peter’s Cemetery, and inspecting the Salzburg Festival Hall. The police detained a press photographer who tried to take a snapshot of him. The press prints long biographical editorials of welcome. The Yugoslav Court cook has been detailed to help the King’s chef. A sumptuous touring car has been despatched to Sidenik for the King’s land excursions. There will be no official reception, the Prime Minister (M. Stoyadinovitch) alone greeting the King. A later message announces that the King has embarked on the yacht Nahlin.
