ENJOYABLE DANCE On Friday evening a return dance was held in Mr Pithie’s woolshed at “Croftlea,” this time Mr and Mrs Pithie and Misses Helen and Ngaire Pithie being the guests of honour. A most enpoyable time was spent. Music was supplied by Mr C. Kelland, extras being, played by Messrs K. Wallack and E. Rowle. Mr A. Pringle was M.C. A waltzing competition was won by Miss F, McGuigan and Mr G. T ohnston and a Monte Carlo waltz by Miss D. McLeod and Mr W. McLay. Those present were, Mr and Mrs A. Pithie, Mr and Mrs J. Paterson, Mr and Mrs N Sim, Mr and Mrs A. Pringle, and Mr and Mrs W. Kirk; Misses Helen and Ngaire Pithie, Brenda Reid (Temuka), Frances McGuigan, Hazel McGuigan, Emily McCully, E. McLeod, D. McLeod, Irene Rowell, Margaret Gallettly, Flora McDonald, Jean McDonald, Aileen Gould, Hazel Pratt, Mary and Marjorie Gallettly, Veda Campbell, Joan and Ruth Barton, Hazel Gallettly, Cathie Sim, Pearl Good, B. Cormack and Clarice Rule; Messrs A. McDonald, Stewart Cain, G. Cain, A. Pratt, D. Pratt, K. Rose, A. Rowell, E. Rowell, H. Sim, L. Gallettly, S. Gallettly, P. Lapthorn, D. Lane, R. McMillan, J. Miller, J. Patterson, A. McFarlane, A. Sim, K. Cormack, D. Cormack, W. McLay, J. McKechnie, G. Johnston, A. McCully, P. Belcher. P.W.M.U. The annual meeting of the Arundel Presbyterian Women’s Mission Union was held on Thursday afternoon. In the unavoidable absence of Rev. W. J. Couling (Geraldine). Mr J. N. Reid presided. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. The Maori Mission and Birthday League showed an increase in funds and membership. Mr Reid addressed the meeting on the early days of the church, a talk which was much enjoyed by those present. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs J. N Reid; vice-presi-dent, Mrs D. Ambler; secretarytreasurer, Mrs N. Sim; stamp secretary, Miss O. Stinson; Maori Mission Birthday League, secretary Miss L. Ambler; corresponding members league secretary, Miss F. Gillespie. Those present were: Mesdames Reid, Sim, Stinson, Paterson, Love, Ambler and J. Ambler, Misses O. Stinson and L. and C. Ambler and Mr Reid.
