CRUISE OF JOSEPH CONRAD
LETTER FROM MEMBER OF CREW United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, June 11. A Geelong resident has received a letter from his nephew on the Joseph Conrad headed, “Joseph Conrad, Samoa,” which states that the vessel had past-i through heavy weather and part of her mast lr 1 been carried away. From Samoa the vessel was to go to Tahiti, a journey which it was estimated would take two months. Evidently the ship was to visit the Pacific islands on the way.
