RABBITSKIN SALE

VALUES EASIER Special to "The Timaru Herald.’’ DUNEDIN, June 11. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd. report that they offered a record catalogue of rabbitskins at their fortnightly sale today. In sympathy with the decline in overseas markets, values were easier. Winter bucks were 2d to 8d lower, winter does 4d to 7d lower, and medium and low grades were 3d to 6d easier than last sale’s rates. The following prices were realised:— Prime winter bucks 143 d, prime winter does 94d, first winter bucks 140 d, first winter does 87d, second winter bucks 123 d, second winter does 72d, early winter bucks 125 d, early winter does 79d, first spotted winter bucks 107 d, first spotted winter does 67d, second spotted winter bucks 88d, second spotted winter does 53d, third spotted winter bucks 58d, third spotted winter does 46d, incomings 96d, second incomings 85d, late autumns 93d, second late autumns 69d, early autumns 66d, second early autumns 55d, dawny autumns 47d, racks 40d, milky does 44d, first winter broken 52d, second winter broken 41d, third broken 28d, first blacks 84d, second blacks 72d, first fawns 80d, second fawns 60d, first hareskins 43d, second hareskins 31d. Wright, Stephenson and Co. report offering a large catalogue, comprising ten tons, to a full bench of buyers. Owing to restricted limits from overseas and the drop in prices at the recent Australian sales, the market vas considerably easier for all Inferior grades, while does showed a sharp decline. Bucks were keenly competed for at a slightly lower level. The drop in prices was as follows: Summer and autumn grades 3d to 6d per lb lower, incomings and early winters 3d to 6d lower, winter does 9d to 12d lower, winter bucks Id to 3d lower.

The following report for the month of May has been issued by Alexander Mines, Ltd.: In the battery department 370 tons of ore were crushed for 1720 z 19dwt of melted gold and in the cyanide department 220 tons of sands were treated for 440 z 18dwt of bullion. In the concentrate roaster the zinc bex was cleaned up for 440 z Bdwt bullion. The total estimated value of the gold ws £1684. In addition 10.2 tons of concentrates were saved, valued at £3OO. In estimating values gold was taken at £7 per fine ounce. QUEENSLAND BREWERY To provide funds for the purchase of freehold hotels and other trading channels the Queensland Brewery Company, Ltd., is offering 249,043 £1 shares on a one for two basis to both ordinary and preference shareholders. Paid up capital comprises 199,234 preference 51 per cent shares and 298,851 ordinary shares. Last year’s profits were equal to 7.2 per cent on its ordinary capital.
