STUDHOLME STOCK SALE
KEEN COMPETITION The fortnightly sale of stock at the Studholme Junction yards held yesterday was notable for the heavy yarding for this time of the year. The entry of ewe hoggets was particularly heavy and the quality good. A very nice entry was yarded on account of Mr John Dempsey, Hook, comprising in all 470 head. These realised the following prices:—Bo at 25/-, 310 at 26/-, 78 at 26/6. There was a good attendance of buyers and competition was keen throughout the sale. The market was very firm. The following sales were made:— Fat ewes—7 at 16/4, 21 at 14/1, 12 at 17/10, 4 at 14/6, 2 at 14/4, 4 at 16/10, 2 at 16/10, 28 at 13/-, 11 at 13/-. Store ewes—ss 2-tooth at 31/4, 45 4-tooth at 34/-, 109 6 and 8-tooth at 22/-, 77 f.m. at 14/6, 22 at 13/4, 2 at 14/1, 36 at 13/4, 23 at 7/2, 1 at 2/-, 50 at 14/1, 51 at 16/-, 43 at 6/9, 20 at 13/7, 69 2-tooth at 32/6. Fat lambs—s at 14/10, 51 at 23/1, 9 at 22/10, 59 at 25/-, 75 at 18/9, 6 at 20/10, 2 at 20/10. Store lambs—s 9 ewes at 25/-, 106 at 23/6, 7 at 23/1, 84 at 23/3, 120 at 25/3, 78 at 26/6, 80 at 25/-, 310 at 26/-, 3 at 25/4, 5 at 20/1, 12 at 9/7. 21 at 21/10, 24 m.s. at 13/4, 25 at 13/4, 7 at 20/7, 57 wether at 13/10. Fat wethers—2s at 23/7, 5 at 22/1, 22 at 23/4, 28 at 23/-, 17 at 24/7. Ewe hoggets—63 at 23/10, 53 at 26/-. Cattle—Cows 37/6 to £6, heifers to £2/5/-, steers to £2/10/-. Horses—l mare at £33.
