BAND UNIFORM FUND SUM TOTALS £BO A short agenda was dealt with at the monthly meeting of the Geraldine District Band Management Committee in the Borough Council Chambers m Monday evening. Present —Messrs W. A. Sherratt(chairman), E. Undrill (hon. conductor), P. H. Davis, Z. O. Sherratt, and L. F. Grimstone. On the motion of Messrs Z. O. Sherratt and L. F. Grimstone, it was agreed to pay £2l/13/- into the new uniform fund account at the Post Office Savings Bank. The new uniform fund account now totals £BO. WARNING TO MOTORISTS. The Geraldine Borough Council recently erected notices of parking places, but they have been ignored. In order to enforce compliance, it has been decided to prosecute offenderh. EUCHRE PARTY. There was a large attendance at the weekly euchre tournament conducted by the Catholic Ladies’ Social Committee in the Town Hall on Monday evening. The men’s prizes were won by Messrs S. Callanan and W. Eathorne, and the consolation prize by Mr Gordon Cowie. The women’s prizes were won by Mrs J. J. Eearl and Miss Patricia Allen, and the consolation prize by Mrs T. Murphy. At the conclusion of the games supper was served and community singing was much enjoyed by those present, Miss A. Kerr providing the music.

PERSONAL. The Rev. W. E. Moore and Mrs Moore will leave to-day to attend the annual Methodist Conference at Christchurch. Mr H. W. W. Williamson has returned from a motoring holiday to Marlborough. Miss C. Turner has returned from a visit to Blenheim. CROQUET MATCH. In a croquet match, Geraldine was defeated by Ashbury by six games •o three. Scores (Geraldine players being mentioned first): — Doubles: Mesdames H. S. Ellis and S. Webb 22, lost to Mesdames Solomon and Darroch 26; Mesdames J. P. Cliff and G. R. Knibb 26, beat Mesdames Cockroft and Martin 18; Mesdames ’. H. P. Wallach and D. MacDonald 21, lost to Mesdames Cameron and Hart 26.
