ANGRY BULLS FIGHT

VALUABLE ANIMALS LOST Extraordinary ferocity was displayed by two valuable pedigree Jersey bulls which engaged in a fight that ended when both fell ove a precipice 100 ft in height, near Leongatha, Victoria, recently. One was killed outright, and the other had two legs broken by the fall and was destroyed. The scene of the combat was Mr C. Calder’s property at Wild Dog Valley. For a long time the bulls charged one another, churning up the ground and inflicting severe wounds, from which both bled freely. One of the bulls was owned by Mr Calder and the other by Mr J. Davis, and previously they had been grazing in separate paddocks. The end of the fight came when a terrific rush by Mr Davis’s bull forced his opponent over the bank, but the rush of the attacker’s charge carried him, too, over the edge. A jutting rock stayed the fall of both a few feet above the level of Wild Dog Valley Road.
