EXPORT SPECIALISTS

NEW BRITISH INSTITUTE LONDON, January 18. Since the industrial depression the attention of manufacturers in England has been drawn to the vital importance of exports to national prosperity. It is appreciated that not enough attention is paid to export. With a view to remedying this deficiency an Institute of Export has been formed, for the purpose of increasing the supply of export specialists and enabling them to work in close association with each other. Sir Francis Goodenough, one of the vice-presidents, in reviewing the aims of the institute, said that the establishment of export on a professional level was the result of experience acquired by a body of export executives representative of leading commercial and industrial concerns, who had been functioning f*“ the post 12 years as the British Export Society. Their experience had taught them that the export trade of England was being handled by individuals working in isolation, without the benefit of a common fund of information, and experience, and with the handicap of starting without that specialist training which other professions had found essential. Thus the Institute of Export was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee.
