EAU-DE-COLOGNE

Eau de cologne, never out of favour with the fastidious woman, has returned to general popularity, its value in hot weather being now more generally recognised. There are many uses for this refreshing old-fashioned perfume, which is now used freely as a beauty adjunct. A few drops in a basin of cold water form a bracing wash that will greatly benefit relaxed pores. If your make-up refuses to keep cool during a fast game of tennis or a round of golf, use this treatment before applying rouge and powder. Eau de cologne is well known as a refresher when dabbed on the forehead or behind the ears, and it is now being used by sportswomen where once it was considered only by invalids. As a friction after the bath it Is equally stimulating, and leaves a fame fragrance that will not clash with whatever scent you may use. As a scent by itself it is an excellent choice for outdoor occasions; it “goes” with tweeds and country clothes. This old-new toilet water is equally useful about the house. It makes the air fresh and fragrant when sprayed in rooms and at dinner a few drops in each finger bowl is a charming and appreciated innovation.
