SALES OF WHEAT
CHANGE OF CONTROL IN CANADA United Press Association —Bv Elective Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 4, 7 p.m.) OTTAWA, December 3. The Minister of Trade and Commerce (Mr W. D. Euler) announced that the Canadian Wheat Board had been reorganised with Mr James R. Murray (Winnipeg! chairman, George H. Mclvor (Winnipeg) vice-chairman and Dean A. M. Shaw (Saskatoon), third member. The appointment of the new personnel had been made at a meeting of the Cabinet Council following the receipt of the resignations of Messrs John I. McFarland, D. L. Smith and H. C. Grant. Mr Murray had been vice-president and general manager of the Alberta Pacific Grain Company. Associated with Mr McFarland for several years, Mr Mclvor had been manager of the selling agency of the Board, and Mr Shaw is head of the Faculty of Agriculture in the University of Saskatchewan. Mr Euler a nnounced: The new Board will initiate a policy of selling wheat to have our surplus restored to its normal basis, but there will be no “fire sale” of wheat. It will be for sale at competitive values and will not be held at exhorbitant premiums over other wheats. The Advisory Board of seven farmers, millers and graimnen is being abolished. A Cabinet committee, consisting of Messrs Euler, J. Gardiner, T. Crerer and C. Dunning, will continue in an advisory capacity.
