NEW WHEAT
RUST RESISTING VARIETY FOR CANADA United Press Association—By Electric Teleerapb—Copyright (Received November 8, 5.5 p.m.) • OTTAWA, November 7. Rust-resisting wheat seed, which will be ready for distribution to farmers in 1937, was the prediction of MajorGeneral A. G. McNaughton, president of the National Research Council. This will end a battle against plant disease waged since 1925. The Research Council has developed three varieties of wheat that resists black stem rust, which this year cost the farmers 100,000,000 dollars.
