Fay-outs By Dairy Companies This month’s pay-outs by dairy companies in Taranaki have probably been the largest that suppliers have received for a long time and for the whole of Taranaki the sum distributed must be over £IOO,OOO. The companies in Nortli Taranaki with offices in New Plymouth have paid out ( during last week sums totalling nearly £36,000, and with others to be added to that figure the sum must be over £40,000. The sums paid in some instances represent bonuses for past supplies in addition to the monthly pay-out. Some companies have been paying out at the rate of lOd and lid per lb. of butterfat, compared with about 8d at the corresponding period of last year. In South Taranaki 10 companies have paid out over £50,000, and it is estimated that for the whole of the companies in that area the total pay-out will be over £BO,OOO.
