Messrs B. Flugel (London), and E. M. Rivers (Melbourne), are staying at the Grosvenor. Mr C. Alma Baker arrived from London this week for the big-game fishing at the Bay of Islands. His Honour Mr Justice Johnston, president of the Court of Review of Mortgagors’ Liabilities, arrived in Timaru yesterday, and is staying at the Grosvenor. , Mr E. S. Smith, who has been a member of the legal staff of the Public Trust Office, Wellington, since 1925, has been appointed Crown solicitor in the Crown Law Office, Wellington. Messrs T. L. Brandt, C. Lamb, J. E. Marriott, W. Watson, E. H. Haines (Christchurch). D. Paul (Wellington), and G. A. Anderson (Dunedin), are staying at the Empire. Messrs J. D. Bourke, T. Rhodes (Dunedin), E. J. Woodbury, J. R. Stoneman (Christchurch), V. A. Hetherington .Thames), and T. A. Dodson (Wellington), are staying at the Dominion. Mr Albert F. Ellis, New Zealand Government representative on the board of the British Phosphate Commissioners, returned by the Wanganella this week after a visit to Nauru and Ocean Islands. Guests at the Balmoral Hotel include Messrs Reg. T. Watkins, H. Abbot, L. A. Keesby, J. Kneale (Christchurch). T. Hedges <\ vamaru), N. Nicholls, C. McPhail, R. J. Crawford, W. T. Thomson, E. C. Hamel, J. P. Wilson, J. Stark, and J. H. Williamson (Dunedin). Messrs A. W. Jones (Invercargill), H. S. Morrison, S. Masdubost, T. E. x. Seddon, J. D. Harper, Dr. T. Macdonald (Wellington), Messrs C. D. Beatson, E Stott, R. P. Chadwick (Christchurch), and C. Rhodes (Dunedin), are staying at the Grosvenor.
