EUCHRE SOCIAL AND DANCE A record attendance was present for the last euchre social and dance held by the Orari School Committee on Thursday evening. The winners were: Women: Mrs J. A. Henderson 1, Mrs C. Brenton (Hilton) 2, Miss Maggie Burke (Belfield) consolation. Men, Mr Ralph Palmer 1, Mr Hugh Patrick 2, Mr Arthur Henderson, consolation. The short night aggregate prizes went to Mrs Miller (Winchester), and Mr C. McClelland (Winchester). The prizes for the lucky winning table went to Mrs T. Harkness and Mr C. Stevens (Kaiapoi). The season’s aggregate prizes were won by Mrs J. B. Cone and Mr Alf Earl. For the highest schoolboy aggregate Hector Henderson secured the prize. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss E. Jones (Temuka), and Mr Tom Downes (Temuka). Most of the prizes presented during the evening were given by supporters of the School. Mr J. B. Cone on behalf of the committee, thanked all donors of prizes and anyone who had helped to make the socials such a success.
