ROYAL WEDDING

WELCOME TO KETTERING British Official Wireless RUGBY, November 7. The streets of Kettering were floodlit and crowded when the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester drove through them last night, on their way to Boughton House, where their honeymoon is being spent. Soon after arrival they were presented with gifts on behalf of the town and of the school children of Kettering. The bride’s bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley, with the simple inscription; “From the Duchess of Gloucester,” was handed yesterday to the authorities of Westminster Abbey with a request that it should be placed on the Unknown Warrior’s tomb. This was the first occasion on which the Duchess used her new title. Hundreds of messages of congratulation for the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were arriving all day at Buckingham Palace from all parts of the world. The messages are being sent on to Boughton House, Kettering.
