FORTY THOUSAND TONS OF STONE FOR BREAKWATER By Telegraph—Press Association OAMARU, November T. The second shot fired at the Harbour Board’s quarry this morning, was completely successful. Fully 40,000 tons was obtained, only a quarter being spoil, the rest all good breakwater stone. The total cost was £3OO, compared with £1,030 for the first shot, when out of 65,000 tons, two-thirds was spoil. The material will be used for the breakwater extension.
