MINIATURE RIFLES

COLMOCO CLUB The Colmoco Miniature Rifle Club held its smoke concert and presentation of trophies last Saturday. In the absence of the patron, Mr J. Smithers presented the trophies as follows: Club championship shield, and miniature cup, E. Power; runner-up, won by G. Caldwell. Club aggregate, S. Matthews, also Messrs John Edmonds Ltd., trophy; runner-up, G. Coldwell. Bulls eye shield and club trophy, E. Power; runner-up, H. Tapp. Trophies. E. Power, H. Tapp, C. H. Rudge, C. Matthews, J. Mitchell, L. Smith, E. Tapp, H. McPherson, G. Caldwell, W. Gledhill, E. Power, S. E. Johns, J. Hardie, J. Farfitt, W. Tubb, G. Honeyman, J. Mitchell, T. Glenhill, H. McPherson, E. Power. A special trophy for best score with handicap in the “Herald” shield competition was won by H. McPherson. A vote of thanks was passed to Miss E. Taylor, Messrs John Edmond Ltd., and club members for donations to the trophy fund. A feature of the evening’s entertainment was Mr Brogan and his trick dog. Everyone present expressed amazement and appreciation of this turn. Songs were given by Messrs Lyons and O’Donohue, and musical items by Messrs Parsons, Denley and Cowles. Mr Hodson presided at the piano, and led the community singing, assisted by Mr T. Tapp. A vote of thanks was passed to Sergt-Major Matheson for his help and advice.
