BALL AT SOUTHBURN
The spinsters and bachelors ball at Scuthburn, held in Mr W. Bell’s granary, was very successful. The Grand March was led by the joint secretaries, Miss Margaret Kinross and Mr George Hoare. Music was supplied by a Waimate orchestra, with extras by Miss Myra Evans. Mr Eric Wood contributed a song. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Betty Midgley and IVfr H. Coake. and a lucky spot waltz by Miss Margaret Ward and Miss Dorothy Nicol. Messrs Hoare, senr and junr., were M.C.’s. Amongst those present were: Mr and Mrs H. Rapsey, Mr and Mrs C.
