Dickie (National Liberal Member) asked for the discussion of the motion, signed by 70 M.P’s., requesting the House to consider the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee’s report on the Western Australian petition for secession from the Commonwealth, with a view to taking a decision whether the Select Committee’s decision should be received or not, before the secession delegation departs next week. :.Ir Stanley Baldwin (Prime Minister), in reply, said he regretted that owing lo the pressure of public business, he could not undertake to make special arrangements for the discussion.
