FLIGHT TO CAPE
AUSTRALIAN AIRMAN CRASHES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph - Copyright (Received July 19, 5.5 p.m.) CAIRO, July 19. The Australian airman, H. L. Brook, who left England on Wednesday on an attempt to fly to Capetown in four days, crashed at Mersamatruh. Brook was injured and his machine completely wrecked.' Lack of petrol compelled Brook to try to land at Mersamatruh. He failed to locate the aerodrome owing to darkness and landed a quarter of a mile away.
