CANEFIELDS STRIKE
OVER A THOUSAND MEN OUT OF WORK United cress Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 27, 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, June 27. A strike of cane-cutters hi the Ayr district resulted in 560 cutters, 600 mill workers and numerous field hands being thrown out of employment. Trade in the towns of Home Mill and Ayr is practically at a standstill.
