EXECUTIVE MEETS
WEST END ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the executive of the West End Association was held on Saturday evening. Mr J. E. Chiles (president) occupied the chair. After a discussion, It was decided to make a considerable reduction in the charges for the use of the hall, and Mr H. Mayo’s offer to make out a notice board to exhibit the new scale of charges in the room was accepted. It was also decided that the supply of crockery be replenished, and that users should be responsible for all breakages and losses. Mr G, Collins undertook to look after the crockery. Mr Stoddart was granted permission to erect a rack for the rifles of the Miniature Rifle Club. The following works were listed to be sent to the Council: Tar-sealing footpath from Drennan’s comer to Hassall Street, Otipua Road from Rathmore Street to Preston Street, and Maltby Avenue. Tar sealing, Oxford Street, kerbing and channelling west side of footpath from Conoor Road to Wai-iti Road, Otipua Road: the uncompleted portion of footpath north side of Wai-iti Road; extra lights in Regent Street and Raymond Street.
