JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS To mark the occasion of the King's silver jubilee, a very pleasant ceremony was held on Friday at the school, when parents and children assembled. After the singing of the National Anthem, and the flag had been saluted by the children, the chairman, Mr Kidd, gave a very appropriate address. A native tree, a kowhai, was then planted to commemorate the occasion. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies, after which each child was presented with a souvenir booklet. The singing of the National Anthem brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close.
