FIRE IN WHARE
MAORI BOY BOSES HIS LIFE By Telegraph—Press Association TE KUITI, May 11. A Maori boy, Nelson Tepu, aged nine, was burned to death in a whare about 1J miles from the Matai Camp, near Mangapehi. Two young boys were sleeping in a whare, which was about 20 feet from that in which their elders slept. The whare was noticed on fire between 10 and 12 o'clock on night. The younger boy, aged 5, managed to escape, but Nelson Tepu was trapped and died in the fire. His father. Jack Tepu, resides at Waimiha.
