WOMAN RUN OVER BY TRUCK By Telegrapft—Press Association . AUCKLAND, May 10. Shocking injuries to the head which proved instantly fatal were received by a widow, Mrs Jessie Addis, aged 71, when she was run over by a motor truck in the city. Mrs Addis, who lived in Pukekoha, was visiting Auckland for the day. The motor truck, which emerged from lower Commerce Street to cross Customs Street, was driven by L. J. Munro, of Onehunga. Mrs Addis was walking along Customs Street in the direction of the railway station and was crossing Lower Commerce Street when she was struck. The accident was witnessed by a newsboy, who was on the opposite side of the street. He said that as, Mrs Addis was crossing she dropped the bag she was carrying and stopped to pick it up. She was struck as she started walk'd" again. The front part of the truck struck her, Knocking her down. She fell partly beneath the truck and one of the twin rear wheels passed over her head, causing instant death.
