The Timaru Rowing Club’s cups make a fine display in Cameron’s window. They will be presented at the Club’s dance on Wednesday next.

The Old Boys’ Cricket Club will hold a dance in the Bay Tea Rooms tonight. Excellent arrangements have been made. ’Phone 697 to reserve tables.

The Timaru Scottish Society’s weekly dance will be held in the Scottish Hall to-r night.

A wind up Jubilee dance will be held by the Ritz Dance Club to-night. Campbell’s Orchestra will provide the music.

The Railway Department advertises particulars of special excursion fares and train arrangements for the races at Ashburton on May 18.

Commencing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday next at 132 North Street. A. N. Oakey and Co. will hold a clearing sale of Fritz Kuhla, piano and superior household furniture and effects on account of Mr R. Holmes, who has left for England. The property, consisting of well built six-roomed wooden house, together with section of 35 perches will also be offered immediately after the furniture auction. On Thursday, May 23. on the site 30 Latter Street, the firm will also submit to auction under instructions from the mortgagee, 2storeyed brick and roughcast boarding house containing 8 rooms and sleeping balcony together with section containing 24 3-10 perches on which it stands.
