IMPROVED PROVISIONS AT DAVENTRY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 10, 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 10. The British Broadcasting Corporation is building at Daventry two new short wave transmitters, using 50-60 kilowatt power, which is double the strength of the present transmitters. The new installation is expected effectively to reply to the German broadcasts from Essen, which are being better received in some parts of the Empire than broadcasts from Daventry.
