“GREAT WILL BE THE FALL”

The existing inflation groundwork in the United States, requires only a recurrence of the speculative spirit of 1929, “to blow the roof off the world,” Sir Josiah Stamp told 200 business and financial leaders at luncheon in his honour. He expressed the opinion that the United States was able to continue in the unbalanced condition, caused by inflation and the big Federal deficit, longer than European nations, because “you are a people not so easily alarmed, but when public psychology changes, great will be the fall thereof.”
