BADMINTON

TIMARU CLUB. The annual meeting of the Timaru Badminton Club was held at the Drill Hall, there being an attendance of 26 members. It was decided that in the meantime the club nights be Wednesday and Thursday of each week with a possibility of a further session on Saturday afternoon. In outlining the programme, Mr A. E. Sandral stated that the club was very fortunate in securing such a building for play, and the playing area was as good if not better than any Badminton hall in New Zealand. The following executive was elected: —President, Mr A. E. Sandral; vicepresident, Mr F. Burton; hon. secretary, Mr J. Milliken; hon. treasurer, Mr W. Tank; general committee, Mrs Sandral, Misses F. Robertson, E. Graham, Messrs W. Clarke, S. Levey and F. Carter. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union has appointed Kingi Tahiwi, honorary secretary of the Maori Rugby Advisory Board, as manager of the Maori Rugby team which is to tour Australia this season..
