OBITUARY
MR W. E. G. SALTER United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph —Copyright PERTH, May 8. The death has occurred of Mr W. E. G. Salter, aged 69, a journalist. He was associated with Australian journalism for 50 years. He was on the Melbourne “Herald” for 20 years, and the “Argus" for six years. He joined the Perth “Daily News” 20 years ago and for some time was chief sub-editor and acting-editor. The Premier, Mr Collier, described Mr Salter as a journalist of outstanding merit and a man whom the State could ill afford to lose.
