BILLIARDS

VISIT BY W. LIN DRUM By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 8. Mr Walter Lindrum and his wife arrived by the Wanganella from Sydney. They were met, among others, by Mr McConachy. It is seven years since he was last in Wellington, and he has very happy memories of his visit to the Dominion. He said if satisfactory arrangements could be made, he would like to include the country towms in the tour. “If some sporting body is willing to give New Zealand an opportunity of seeing the world’s billiards championship played, it should be possible to arrange a contest.” He knew, however, that there would be only two entrants, because players from the Old Country, for financial and other reasons, were not likely to come here for the championship match. If it eventuated it would be under the baulk-line rule. The match should be on time limits, and not confined to one centre, nor even one Island.
