FLIGHT TO ENGLAND
MISS BATTEN ENTERTAINED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright LONDON, May 2. The New Zealand High Commissioner, Sir James Parr, gave a reception to Miss Jean Batten, who made a solo flight from Australia to England, last week, in the presence of many New Zealanders at the New Zealand office. Miss Batten, in replying, said that one of the most important factors in her success was her mother, in keeping up her determination, despite failures. She hoped that her flights would add to New Zealand's prestige.
