A PATIENT’S DEATH
HOSPITAL STAFF EXONERATED By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 7. In his verdict at the inquest on Ellen Sarah Marks, a Wellington Hospital patient, the Coroner, Mr Gilbertson, found that she died from injuries through throwing herself out the window during the impulse of nervous depression. His opinion was that the investigation made into the woman's case and the treatment prescribed and carried out were thorough and complete, and his opinion agreed ■with that of Dr. Williams, that the mental condition of the patient was not such as to suggest that a special nurse should be detailed to keep a constant watch on her. Death was due to misadventure, and not to lack of any skill or care on the part of the medical officers or nursing staff concerned.
