TAKAKUA WINS WARRNAMBOOL CUP United Press Association— By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 2, 9.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 2. At the races at Warrnambool to-day the chief event, the Warrnambool Cup. resulted: —Takakua 8.5 (K. Voitre) 1, Three Pipes 8.2 (Morris) 2; Isle of Astur 8.3 (Wilson) 3. Won by threequarters of a length, a length between second and third. Time—2min 22sec. Jockey Injured. The prominent jockey T. Lynch was seriously injured at Flemington to-day while schooling the gelding Ortalan over hurdles. Lynch’s skull was fractured when Ortalan fell and broke his neck. The horse was destroyed.
