TIMARU MAYORAL CONTEST
To the Editor of " The Timaru Herald ” Sir, —I have read “M. E. Hilton’s” reply to my letter with deep interest. It does not, of course, answer my question. What I want to know is was Mr Roller ORed by the Labour Representative Committee, or was he nominated by that little family party I mentioned in my previous letter? The telegram shows that Mr Paterson has not been O.K.ed, but no one has proved to me that Mr Roller has been OR.ed by the Labour Representative Committee. That is the question I wish answered. Your correspondent mentioned that Mr Paterson had broken his written pledge given when joining the Party. Others should break their pledge also and make a fresh start before it is too late. Remember we will have a Parliamentary election this year, and all will see by to-day’s paper that we have one candidate in the field now. So let us beware for danger is near.—l am, etc., WEST END. Timaru, May 1.
