CHRISTCHURCH By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, May 1. There are no changes in market quotations since the week-end report. May-June potatoes are quoted at £5/5/f.0.b., s.i., and prompt at £5/2/6. Prices to farmers remain at £4. Few inquiries are coming from the north. The Wingatui will be loading at Timaru to-morrow, and it is reported that she will lift about 3000 sacks. She will be loading at Lyttelton on Thursday, and it is expected that a further 4000 sacks will be shipped. The shipment will arrive on a bare market. The oats market is- unaltered, but there is little business. A Gartons still rule at 3/2, f.0.b., s.i. Fowl feed Is unchanged, “free” wheat being quoted at 4/3 to 4/3£, f.0.b., s.e., and board at 4/4. Good prices still rule for partridge peas, the on-truck quotation being 6/a bushel. With the arrival of May there is a further increment of a penny a bushel in the price of milling wheat, which for the month will be: —Tuscan 4/2, Hunters 4/4, Pearl and Velvet 4/6. The following are quotations for new season’s produce paid to farmers on trucks, free of commission, sacks extra, except where otherwise stated. Wheat—New season’s interim payments for April—Tuscan, 4/2; Hunters, 4/4; Pearl and Velvet, 4/6; fowl wheat, 4/3 to 4/3 h for “free” pi’ompt; 4/4 for board, f.0.b,, s.e. Oats—Algerians 2/5 a bushel; Gartons, A’s 2/9. B’s 2/5, Duns 3/-. Onions—£lo/10/- to £ll. Potatoes—£4 a ton. Perennial Ryegrass—To 2/9 a bushel. Italian Ryegrass—To 2/9 a bushel. White Clover—Bd to lOd per lbCocksfoot—To lOd per lb for Akaroa, 9d for Plains. Red Clover—Bd per lb. Chaff—£3/10/- a ton. Flour—£l2/12/- a ton, local; £ll/17/shipping. Bran—Large, local, £5; shipping, £4 a ton; small, local, £4/10/-. Pollard—Large, £5/10/-; small, £6.
DIVIDEND DECLARED By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, May 1. The directors of the Dominion Fertilisers Coy. recommend a dividend at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum. COLOMBO TEA AUCTION By Telegraph —Press Association DUNEDIN, May 1. L. M. Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of April 30:—At the auction of 2.750,0001 b, common teas were firm to dearer. Medium and fine kinds were in keen demand, and prices advanced about 3d. The quantity to be auctioned next week is 2,750,0001 b.
