LORD GALWAY
WELCOME TO CHRISTCHURCH By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. Lord and Lady Galway were warmly welcomed at Lyttelton and Christchurch, when they began their first visit to the South Island this morning. They were met at the Christchurch Railway Station by members of the Dominion Boy Scout Council, and later were waited on at their hotel by the Mayor, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P. At noon they attended a civic reception in the Civic Theatre, where the Mayoress presented Lady Galway with a bouquet. The Mayor formally presented an address from the citizens and speeches of welcome followed. Later the Governor-General placed a wreath on the Bridge of Remembrance. The party will go to Dunedin tomorrow morning.
