"THE FIND OK TIIE CENTURY” By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. April 29. The discovery of the Fiji goldfields was undoubtedly the find of the century, said Mr P. Costello, of Suva, in an interview on the arrival of the Monowai from Sydney to-day. The finding of the Tavua field, he said, was due to one man. Mr W. Borthwick. whose experience was gained at Waihi There were now six mines there and there might be more. Share prices were going up. When he arrived in Melbourne, Aloha £lO shares were selling at £24. A fortnight later buyers were offering £650 and sellers were asking £9OO. Mr Costello, who is Interested in the development of the mines, has been in Fiji 26 years. He will leave Auckland on Saturday on his return.
