General situation: Deep depressions are situated over south-eastern Australia and to the east of New Zealand respectively, while an anti-cyclone of slight intensity is approaching across the Tasman Sea. Winds: Strong south-west to southerly, reaching gale force in places; moderating to-morrow. Seas (New Zealand waters): Moderate south ~f Farewell Spit, elsewhere rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh southerly winds, decreasing later and becoming variable; seas moderate to rather rough but decreasing. Weather: Changeable in eastern districts and North Auckland, with showers at times, some heavy falls between Hawke’s Bay and East Cape; otherwise fine, improving generally to-morrow; temperatures cold.
