THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist General situation. —An anti-cyclone of slight intensity covers New Zealand, but pressure is still low to the east and is beginning to fall in the south. A rather deep depression is located over Tasmania. Winds.—Light to moderate southeasterlies prevailing north of New Plymouth and Napier, elsevmere winds tending northerly or in the south to north-west. Seas (New Zealand waters).—Rather rough at first on parts of the East Coast of the North Island and becoming rough about Puysegur Point, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Light to moderate and variable winds, tending northerly and freshening in the central and southern portion, seas smooth to moderate. Weather. —Some scattered showers still probable at times in the northeastern and northern portions of the North Island, and later also in the extreme south and west, but the weather mainly fine and rather warmer. Mr F. L. Wooles Wind.—Light to moderate east to north-east. Weather.—Fine. Conditions in Timaru Dull skies prevailed in Timaru for the greater part of yesterday, although in the afternoon the sun made a brief appearance.
