FIERCE ATTACK ON ROYAL FAMILY United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright (Received February 6, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 6. Mr J. McGovern (Labour Member for Shettleston), in a fiery speech in the debate on the Unemployment Assistance Bill, violently attacked the Royal Family. He said the King’s twenty-five years’ reign had been a period of progress for many, but had seen the gradual dragging down of the great mass of the people. He demanded to know what these had to celebrate. He quoted the incomes of King George and the Duke and Duchess of Kent, and said: “These parasites are living on the wealth of this country.” The Deputy-Speaker intervened and called Mr McGovern to order. A group of 30 men and 40 women entered the central lobby of the House of Commons to-night, hoping to obtain tickets for the gallery during the debate on unemployment. Some of the visitors began shouting, “Down with the National Government! Up with the United Red Front!” Within a few minutes the police removed them all from the building.
