McGovern (Labour Member for Shettleston), in a fiery speech in the debate on the Unemployment Assistance Bill, violently attacked the Royal Family. He demanded to know what these had to celebrate. A group of 30 men and 40 women entered the central lobby of the House of Commons to-night, hoping to obtain tickets for the gallery during the debate on unemployment. Some of the visitors began shouting, “Down with the National Government! Up with the United Red Front!” Within a few minutes the police removed them all from the building.
