Dominion Meteorologist General Situation —An anti-cyclone is moving eastwards off New Zealand while a deep depression is advancing from the western Tasman Sea. Winds—Moderate to strong northeasterly to northerly winds, rising to gale force in places. Seas (New Zealand waters) - Becoming rough on the West Coast and about Cook and Faveaux Straits; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Strong northerly winds to gales with rough seas. Weather—Becoming unsettled soon in western districts with rain setting in, elsewhere fair at first but the sky gradually clouding over and fairly general rain probable within the next two days; warm temperatures. Conditions in Timaru After a dull day on Saturday, yesterday was beautifully w’arm and fine in Timaru. the temperature reaching 7SJS degrees in the shade.
